Capti Solutions for Education
Autism
Autism is a developmental disorder characterized by social, communication, and language problems. Depending on the prevalence of symptoms, autism may be described as mild or severe. Because autism presents differently among individuals who have it, it’s difficult to generalize symptoms and treatments.
Although it may be a lifelong disorder, it can be managed through various medication, therapies, and assistive technology for autism. Capti Voice, for example, allows students to customize the text they’re reading to make it easier to understand. They can choose a color scheme and font that is easier to read and in doing so, assert their independence in the classroom.
Some autistic individuals may have a hard time processing language through reading, and would benefit from Capti’s text-to-speech and word-tracking features. This would allow them to follow along as the text is being read to them, so they get to experience the visual and auditory connection.
